Introducing the redesigned DesignEdgeCanada.com

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—When Design Edge Canada magazine and its companion news site DesignEdgeCanada.com launched in early 2006, our goal was to become the top news source on graphic design in Canada. In order to realize that goal, we decided to improve the look and functionality of our website. We are now ready to reveal our revamped site.

We appreciate your patience as we iron out the remaining wrinkles in our new system. It is a rolling launch so a number of new features will appear over the coming weeks. Currently, the site includes several improvements such as an RSS feed, a search engine and forums.

Earlier this year, while trolling the GDC listserv – one of several online design communities – I came across this post:

I don't know where to look anymore for design conversations on current events and issues. We don't seem to have one clear forum to discuss issues at the moment... I guess we just have a ton of options for forums. Maybe too many. Is there a way to streamline our communications channels? You'd think we as designers should be on top of this stuff.

This is our answer – an independent, one-stop news source on graphic design. Tell us what you think. Join our forum discussions and post your comments online. With your participation, DesignEdgeCanada.com will become the most important online community for Canadian graphic designers. Might we suggest you make us your new homepage?

We look forward to hearing from you.

I wonder if the photo layout is supposed to be a clever attempt at illustrating how they're so super...
