TORONTO—Next week, Design Edge Canada editor Ann Meredith Brown and art director Michael Hewis will be presenting a seminar at Magazines University, a magazine publishing conference held annually at the Old Mill. Trade Secrets: Top Advice from Award-Winning Editors will be held on Tuesday, June 2 from 9am to 11:45am. Magazine editors, art directors and designers are encouraged to join them for a Design Edge show and tell, and for some advice on how to look great and read well for less.
From the Mags U conference program: "While winning an award isn't everything, doing so can be a great way to impress readers, attract advertisers and set yourself apart from the competition. In this session, pros from some of Canada's top trade magazines share key tips on what it takes to engage readers and catch the eyes of awards judges. Learn how to delight readers through a harmony of content and design, how to develop a unique voice for your magazine and how to be the go-to source for your industry's news, even on a small budget."
