Best Match 2.0 is a search feature that can allow iStockphoto users to reduce their search times by up to 50 per cent. Visitors now have a choice on their search bars, called “low” and “high” sliders, if they wish to see specific images or a broader range of selection that matches their keywords.
The agency’s photographers now rank their keywords for each image so the search engine can decipher which meta tags are the most relevant.
According to research by iStockphoto, 78 per cent of users were able to reduce their search time with the upgraded Best Match 2.0 technology. Twenty per cent said it cut their search time in half.
“Compared to our competitors, we’re really happy with the results,” says iStockphoto COO Kelly Thompson. “I think we’re on top.”
In August, iStockphoto will start to deliver more locally relevant search results with country and language specific data.
Vetta Image Collection showcases 35,000 top quality photos and illustrations handpicked by iStockphoto experts. Prices will range from US$20 to US$70, depending on the type and size of the picture.
