q30 designs sport stamps
TORONTO—While hockey may be our nation’s passion, Canada is responsible for inventing other great sports. To commemorate this ingenuity, Toronto design firm q30 created four stamps that highlight basketball, lacrosse, bowling and ringette.
Each stamp includes equipment from the sport. “We decided to feature those most in keeping with the sports’ beginnings, which are indebted to the creative thinking of their Canadian inventors,” said q30 principal Peter Scott, in a release.

In addition, linear diagrams of each sport’s playing field appear in the background. “These diagrams indicate Canada’s role in formalizing these games, accounting for their current status as competitive sports.” Contact: www.canadapost.ca; www.q30design.com
