Sixth annual Boot It Up! fashion and arts benefit
TORONTO — Blundstone Footwear Canada is hosting its sixth annual fashion and visual arts fundraising event tomorrow night. Boot it up! benefits Sketch, a Toronto arts initiative that creates opportunities for street-involved and homeless youth in the arts.

Sketch and Blundstone challenged the community to “art up” 20 pairs of Blundstone boots through painting, designing, sculpting or otherwise artistically enhancing. Local artists and marketing agency creatives took up the challenge and the top 10 will be available for auction at tomorrow night’s event.

“Boot It Up! is a key annual fundraiser which allows Sketch to offer opportunities for young people who are street-involved or homeless or considered to be at risk,” said Phyllis Novak, artistic director of Sketch, in a press release. Last year the event raised $25,000 and over its five-year run it has donated more than $100,000 to the initiative.

The event starts at 7 p.m. at The Roundhouse at Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto. Contact: Sketch.ca/bootitup09
