Practivism2 hosts expert speakers next Thursday
VANCOUVER—The Society of Graphic Designers B.C., in partnership with the Museum of Vancouver and Hemlock Printers present Practivism2 next Thursday, November 19. The night features three top North American designers speaking on how they are using their talents to engage students, assist social enterprises and promote sustainability, according to an event press release.
Speaking at the event are Andrea Pellegrino, Kara Pecknold and Nathan Shedroff. Pellegrino is a partner at New York City-based marketing and design firm Worldstudio. Pecknold’s work has been featured in IDEO’s Human-Centered Design Toolkit. Developed in partnership with the Gates Foundation, the HCD Toolkit has been used by NGOs and social enterprises to work with impoverished communities around the world. Shedroff is the chair of the MBA in Design at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. He is the author of four books, including Design is the Problem which focuses on sustainable design.
Tickets for the event which runs from 5:30 - 10:30 p.m. are $25 for GDC/BC members and $40 for non-members. Contact: Bc.gdc.net/practivism
