Stokely Design Associates creates mining logo
TORONTO—Referred to the job by a potential client, Toronto-based Stokely Design Associates recently created the visual identity for Toronto and Vancouver-based mining resource advisory and asset management company Hanocci Group. Michael Stokely, principal and creative director, says the company is focusing a lot of its business on China so there needed to be eastern influence in the branding.

To that end, red was chosen as the primary logo colour. “It represents health and prosperity,” says Stokely. “A secondary colour, grey, was chosen because it symbolizes stability, respect and wisdom."
The font used was a slightly modified version of Trajan because of its ability to look classic and ancient at the same time. “I thought it was a nice complement for the identity,” he says. “It doesn’t look transient or light, it looks very serious.” Contact: Stokelydesign.com, Hanoccigroup.com
