K9 to wrap up Magazine Makeover contest
TORONTO—Entries are now being accepted for the National Magazine Makeover Contest. Presented by Toronto-based K9 Design Co., the inaugural contest is accepting submissions until Sunday, January 31. Organized to celebrate print and design, the contest is open to all Canadian magazines.
The grand prize package includes a redesign, cover circulation consultation, digital publishing services, printing services, stock photography and more. All in, the prize is worth close to $20,000, according to K9 Design.
Publishers can enter their magazines for free and must submit by this Sunday. The winner will be announced April 20, 2010. Contact: Magazinemakeover.ca

SMELLS LIKE AMOEBA CONTEST!!!!! THE DIFFERENCE, AMOEBA WILL DO BETTER THAN K9 DESIGN!!!!

If you did any sort of research you'd see that this contest came out months before Amoeba's so I'd tend to think that Amoeba is the one who "smells".

I have been redesigning magazines for several years now...in total I have redesigned 8. Why would anyone want to win a contest with K9 Design. The work is terrible (check out their website). I think that K9 should be paying the magazines. This is one contest that I would want to lose!

Yes, we did launch this contest months ago, strictly for publishers (a little different than Amoeba's) in November 2009 to be exact. I believe that anything that furthers great design is a good thing for all of us and I wish Amoeba the best success. It's a great idea! Thanks to Design Edge for helping us to spread the word.
