Ad outlook brighter in Canada
TORONTO—According to a recent report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, media and ad revenue growth looks more promising here than in the U.S. Revenue in Canada’s entertainment and media market will rise 5 per cent each year from 2010 to 2014, more than the 3.8 per cent predicted rise for the U.S. market.
The report from PwC, Global Entertainment and Media Outlook: 2010-2014, analyzed 13 major entertainment and media segments in 48 counties and predicted the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the nations for the next five years.
In Canada, total advertising revenue is set to rise at 3.1 per cent CAGR, also higher than the 2.6 per cent forecast for the U.S.
Global advertising is set to increase at 4.2 per cent CAGR, up to $498 billion (US) with Internet advertising leading the way. It will join television advertising as the only medium with spending over $100 billion (US), the report forecasts. Contact: Pwc.com/ca

if internet advertising is leading the way, in no way will the billing ever be near what they were in the tv/radio glory days.
why? we can all post ads ourselves in the form of blogs, facebook pages, tweets
users do not pay any attention to online campaigns... i have never clicked on an ad and i have been on the internet since it began
this idea that ads/media will continue, not only online, is a farse. people have moved on from the traditional ad methods. give it up agencies
